I had a mirror, so I knew I was out of shape and not living an active, healthy lifestyle, but years had gone by before I took action and the next thing I knew, I was about 50 pounds over weight and living a sedentary life. My office location changed and I now had access to a gym in the building where I worked, with access to personal training, so no excuses, right?
Once again, I made up reasons (i.e. excuses) to keep me out of the gym and in the same routine – working at a desk all day, eating lunch out every day, long commutes to and from work. One morning in April (2011) I finally admitted to myself that I needed to make a change. I called David Wheeler at Wheeler Fitness and he made an appointment with me so we could meet face to face. The first time we met up, it was for a complimentary assessment where David asked what I hoped to achieve through training, he put me through some exercises to see what I could do and where he needed to focus my workouts, and then he spent time talking to me about nutrition and my current health.
That was the easy part...since then David has pushed me harder than I thought was possible, all the while making me feel at ease. He has a great sense of humor and he's incredibly encouraging.
Fast-forward 8 months, about 100 workouts, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that David Wheeler has changed my life. The best workout program I've ever had...you won't regret it!
I would recommend training with David Wheeler to anyone who wants to be their best self, both inside and out. No matter what fitness level you're currently at, he will challenge you, encourage you, and inspire you to new heights. He radiates passion for his craft and genuine concern for his clients. Group classes make training with David extremely affordable, and you will still get the attention you deserve and the results you want. Treat yourself, invest in your future...You won't regret it!
Fit and active throughout childhood, I never worried about my weight...until college. I thought the Freshmen 15 couldn't find me, but somehow they did. Whereas I used to enjoy an active, athletic lifestyle, suddenly I found myself going to the gym just to say I went. I logged my minutes on the (mindless) cardio machines; I lifted weights that felt (comfortably) challenging; and you bet I did hundreds of crunches every which-way, hoping to achieve a flat, toned midsection. Unfortunately, I can't say I ever really noticed results, but I could always say, "Yeah sure...I work out.".
Two years post-college, I started making some changes. Consistent modifications to my diet started shedding unwanted pounds, and before long I was ready to get back on the horse and join a gym. The personal training promotion was too good to pass up...what better way to kick-start my new health and fitness habits than to meet with a personal trainer?! What I intended to be a one-time splurge as I worked to get back into shape, quickly became the best workout program I'd ever had. My family and friends were full of compliments and they all wanted to know what I'd been doing differently. The results (and the flattery) could not have been more encouraging. When my sessions ran out, I realized I couldn't quit it...I craved that time in the gym and figured I would sacrifice elsewhere to continue to afford training with David. Great health is priceless!

I have more stamina and endurance than I have had in 5-6 years
I have been working out with David for the past 7 ½ weeks now. After the initial 6 week class, I decided to continue working out with him for another six weeks for a few reasons:
• First, I feel I have more stamina and endurance than I have had in 5-6 years
• Second, while I only lost two pounds during the first six weeks, I did notice a definitive increase in muscle tone and a significant loss of inches.
• Lastly, as a former college athlete I really enjoy the type of workouts he provides as they are very athletic in nature and help to get me in shape athletically, which in my opinion is the best kind of shape to be in.
I highly recommend working out with David for anyone who is seeking to get in shape. However, be ready to really work, because it will never get easy. If it does, David will crank up the workouts notch to have you sweating!

David's program has helped me through constant coaching, encouragement and patience with a beginner...
I joined David's gym about five month ago. I'd never done gym work or had a trainer before but, I had a general desire to increase my health and overall fitness level. Over the past months David has been a constant motivational force in my development.
It is often difficult to make time for exercise and when the time is available making the most of it. I am seeing real results in just the first 6 weeks...
I am seeing real results training with David in just the first 6 weeks of our fitness challenge. I was wanting to get back in shape after having 2 kids and had trouble carving out the time to really focus on regaining my fitness. I can now run around with my kids without getting winded, and I'm looking forward to getting back on the slopes this winter.
It's the hardest workout you will ever love. I look forward to the intense hour I get to take care of myself, and having a great coach to motivate me to keep pushing. Thank you David Wheeler, I feel strong again!
